CHARLESTOWN, MA – June 26, 2005 – PHT Corporation, the leading provider of electronic patient reported outcome (ePRO) solutions used in over 160 trials worldwide, and ePharmaLearning, the leading provider of eCollaboration tools for clinical development are partnering to offer advanced eTraining solutions to improve site satisfaction. Through the agreement, ePharmaLearning is collaborating with PHT to deliver cost-effective online training modules for sites on PHT’s eSource applications including LogPad® StudyPad™ and StudyWorks™.
The eLearning modules, which address topics ranging from setting up a LogPad to running subject compliance reports in StudyWorks, are fully animated and narrated. They are always available on-demand to supplement the training sessions delivered at the initial Investigator Meeting. The online modules are available throughout the study and include simulation exercises a training certification test along with complete training records for each user that completes the online tutorial.
“Our experience shows that effective training is an essential component of a successful ePRO solution,” said Phil Lee, PHT President and CEO. “Our partnership with ePharmaLearning adds value to customers through supplemental eLearning solutions which are scaleable and cost effective and easy to use. ePharmaLearning’s customized training educates site personnel on the details of the LogPad or StudyPad system and improves the site coordinators’ ability to help subjects unfamiliar with eDiaries enabling sponsors to better leverage their investment in ePRO.
Clients also benefit from the added efficiency of online training, which according to ePharmaLearning CEO Lance Converse is typically 80% less than the cost of traditional in-person training and can be delivered in 1/3 of the time, with equivalent learning outcomes.
“PHT and ePharmaLearning share a number of top pharmaceutical clients, which makes the partnership a natural fit,” said Converse. “By delivering high quality, scalable training, we are able to help leading biopharmaceutical companies improve efficiencies and site satisfaction, which can in turn reduce trial timelines increase subject compliance. We are excited to be working with PHT as the first ePRO solution provider to provide advanced online training services to their clients.”
Lee and Converse agree that the already high customer demand for electronic training methods will only increase over time, citing the growing trend of hosting Investigator Meetings online as an example.
